Unofficial Confirmation: Andy Mangan set to join Real Madrid, as per The Athletic

According to The Athletic Andy Mangan will join Carlo Ancelotti’s backroom staff at Real Madrid, Sam Byrne has said Mangan is still at Stockport County for now, the work permit process is ongoing and as of now there is no timescale set.

@Hatter93 speaks volumes about the level of coaching we have available to us, someone reminded me the other day of the goalkeeper coach who went to Newcastle about 2 seasons ago.
This is stuff of dreams for those that remember being stuck in the National League North for many years with essentially little to no hope of being in this position today.
Hopefully just another sign of County heading in the right direction and it’ll be interesting to see now if we go fairly high profile for the replacement. I assume County have been aware of this being on the cards for a few weeks given it was rumoured recently.

Surely we’ll get some sort of compensation I’d imagine. I’d presume they’ll have someone lined up to come in, or someone in-house ready to take over.

According to the Times, Mangan has been denied a work permit… He must be absolutely gutted and quite rightly you have to feel for him.
